CinéSchool

Launched in 2021, CinéSchool is a film education program for young audiences, offered by FACE Foundation, Villa Albertine, and the French Embassy in the United States. It aims to make French and francophone cinema more accessible to schools and students across the US.

This free film program supports the French educational network and specifically targets French language teachers in public and private schools, Alliances Françaises, and FLAM programs in the United States.

CinéSchool offers young people of all backgrounds the opportunity to see curated French language content and serves as a dynamic resource for French speakers and learners in the U.S. Whether students are part of a dual-language program, learning French as a foreign language, or pursuing French as their heritage language, CinéSchool provides free and diverse cultural content that enhances their French language education.

With carefully selected films adapted to different age groups, from elementary school to high school, CinéSchool offers free online screenings accompanied by educational materials. Teachers can utilize these resources in the classroom to study the film before its online projection. Post-screening activities take place on the Flip digital platform, allowing students to express their opinions and practice their French.

CinéSchool provides teachers with a unique opportunity to develop French language learning while allowing students to discover French films not readily available in the United States. Screenings take place online, allowing each student the flexibility to watch the film at their own pace during their free time. By offering a digital version of a school cinema field trip, CinéSchool presents an innovative, immersive, and enriching approach.

Lancé en 2021, CinéSchool est un programme d’éducation à l’image destiné au jeune public, proposé par Villa Albertine, l’Ambassade de France aux États-Unis et la Fondation FACE.

Cette offre cinématographique gratuite a pour objectif de soutenir le réseau éducatif français et s’adresse spécifiquement aux enseignants de français des écoles publiques, du réseau homologué, des Alliances Françaises et des programmes FLAM aux États-Unis.

Pendant l’année scolaire, CinéSchool propose des films francophones soigneusement sélectionnés, adaptés à différents groupes d’âge. Ces films sont disponibles en ligne et sont accompagnés de ressources pédagogiques créées spécialement pour le programme. Les enseignants ont la possibilité d’utiliser ces ressources pédagogiques en classe pour étudier le film avant sa projection en ligne. Les activités après la projection se déroulent sur la plateforme numérique Flip, offrant aux élèves l’opportunité d’exprimer leur opinion sur le film et de pratiquer leur français. Cette partie peut être réalisée en classe ou à la maison, que ce soit individuellement ou en travaux de groupe.

CinéSchool offre aux enseignants une opportunité unique de développer l’apprentissage du français tout en permettant aux élèves de découvrir des films en langue française qui ne sont pas diffusés aux États-Unis aux États-Unis. Les séances de visionnage se déroulent en ligne, à la maison, offrant ainsi à chaque élève la flexibilité de regarder le film à son propre rythme, pendant leur temps libre. En proposant une version digitale d’une sortie scolaire au cinéma, CineSchool propose une approche innovante, immersive et enrichissante.

Veuillez noter que l’accès aux projections de CinéSchool est limité et l’inscription est requise. Pour participer et vous inscrire à une projection, veuillez vous référer à la brochure (en français) ou à la page de sélection des films (en anglais) et compléter le formulaire d’inscription en ligne.
