In 2023, Sounds of New York will provide participants with a deeper understanding the American podcasting ecosystem through meetings with industry leaders based in New York; provide inspiration to French podcast creators on writing podcasts; and promote French podcasters.

Tournées Film Festival is expanding… and becomes ALBERTINE CINEMATHEQUE! We are thrilled to announce that the Tournées Festival Grant is now part of an even larger program, which offers every university and college a wide-range of ways to explore the diversity of French Cinema and become part of a vibrant community of French film lovers.

In 2022, the Book Department of the newly launched Villa Albertine – is proud to reveal the Albertine Translation Fund & Prizes, a new and enhanced version of The French Voices Awards. The Albertine Translation Fund & Prize recognizes the quality of both the original work and the translation. Grants go to books representing new trends in fiction and graphic novels and important points of view in non-fiction.

Etant donnés Contemporary Art aims to strengthen ties between France and the U.S. in the field of contemporary art by fostering active collaboration and encouraging long-lasting partnerships between French visual artists, curators, and collectives and American curators and cultural institutions. The fund supports the discovery of emerging talents, while also sustaining interest in established artists.

The FACE Contemporary Theater program fosters innovative artistic collaborations and co- productions in theater, and contributes to a dynamic intercultural dialogue between France and the United States. It aims to encourage projects that push aesthetic boundaries and reflect the cultural and artistic diversity seen in theater today.

FUSED: French U.S. Exchange in Dance fosters dialogue, strengthens professional relationships, and sparks creative artistry through cultural exchanges by introducing choreographers and performers whose works had never or rarely been seen in the partner country.

The Jazz & New Music program is designed to encourage the creative and professional development of French jazz and contemporary composers, musicians, and ensembles in the U.S.

A year-long celebration of the art of dance from inception to performance, Albertine Dance Season reflects on the evolution of dance in a post pandemic world and to encourage a new generation of dance makers.

With free screenings adapted for various age groups —from elementary to middle school— CinéSchool seeks to offer young people of all backgrounds the opportunity to see curated French language content, and to become a dynamic resource for French speakers and French learners in the U.S.

Films on the Green is an annual free French film festival in New York City parks organized by Villa Albertine, NYC Parks, and FACE Foundation.

French Immersion will bring French creators or producers to the U.S. on the occasion of an event or presentation of their work during a significant festival or program identified by the Cultural Services team in New York.

Night of Ideas is a 24-hour virtual marathon of philosophical debate and artistic performances taking place once a year across the U.S.

Oui Design has been developed by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and FACE Foundation, in order to foster creative exchange in design between France and the U.S. Launched in 2016, it is the first program initiated by the French Embassy to support fruitful and durable partnerships between design professionals on both sides of the Atlantic.

The French Dual Language Fund aims to expand and strengthen existing French dual language education programs throughout the country, and support the launch of new programs.

The French Dual Language Program provides high-quality bilingual education to children in public schools across New York City. Currently, 1,300 students are served by this program but the need is far greater with 22,000 children living in French-speaking homes with little or no access to education in French.

The French Embassy in the United States and FACE Foundation have joined forces to support innovation in French and Francophone Studies as part of the initiative French in Higher Education.

FACE Foundation and the French Embassy’s education division is creating a Multi-State Pathway to Accreditation, a program that helps those with a strong mastery of French enter into the teaching profession with fewer obstacles and blockages than obtaining a traditional teaching license.

The Community College in France Program seeks to identify promising students from underrepresented groups —who will then become “Ambassadors of France”— and offer them transformative educational experiences that promote the sharing of knowledge and know-how between France and the US.

The Transatlantic Mobility Program aims at increasing Franco-American student mobility by supporting American and French Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in developing study-abroad opportunities.

The Transatlantic Research Partnership supports new collaborations and cutting-edge multidisciplinary research projects between promising young researchers in France and the United States. These forward-looking collaborative research projects span, and sometimes combine humanities, social sciences, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
