The 2015 Call for Proposals is now closed.

Established in 2007 as a collaboration between the French government, American private donors and the FACE Foundation, the Partner University Fund is dedicated to amplifying the potential of the brightest French and American scholars by supporting educational and research partnerships between higher education institutions in both countries.



  Under the auspices of PUF, faculty and students from two world-class institutions dedicated to advancing knowledge of the seas throughout the globe joined forces to tackle issues at the intersection of Physics and Biology.

Current Projects

PARTNERSHIP: INRIA and Argonne National Laboratory
: Preparing for Next Generation Numerical Simulation Platforms

This partnership takes computational platforms to the next level by addressing scalability issues in numerical simulation platforms. This essential research will accommodate the next generation of simulations and have applications in climate science, molecular dynamics, and astrophysics.

PARTNERSHIP: Ecole Normale Supérieure and the University of Arizona
: Advancing the synthesis of ecology and evolution through the integration of mathematical, observational and experimental models

This project gathers ecologists, evolutionary biologists, and applied mathematicians to explore the interface of ecology and evolution. Researchers achieve a deeper understanding of biodiversity and ecosystem function while unravelling underlying ecological and evolutionary processes.
