Launched in 2016, Oui Design is a multifaceted program developed by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy to foster creative exchange in design between France and the U.S. By partnering with individuals and institutions, Oui Design supports and initiates creative collaborations with designers, artisans, curators, inventors, researchers, teachers, students, and manufacturers. It also brings French designers to the U.S. to exhibit their works, and engage with industry professionals and the public.
Oui Design brings the work of 19 international designers, 4 curators and 9 manufacturers and institutions to New York in Mayduring NYCxDesign, and will present a series of projects at at WantedDesign Brooklyn/Manhattan, at the Copper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum exploring the intersection of design and savoir-faire, new production processes and the impact of design on our daily lives. At the Museum of Arts and design (MAD), Designers screenings is two-part program of films, a vibrant celebration of film and video, as harnessed by designers.
Oui Design is a two-year long program (2016-2017) and it will continue to develop new projects in collaboration with American institutions, galleries and fairs.
